Character Name: Selyna
Species: Guardian
Age: Unknown. She looks about 16 or 17 human years, but she's actually closer to about 600.
Links to the Space Cases: None, really. If you've read my fanfic, you could call her a descendent of Gyana and Alyna
Apperance: Um, I'll copy-and-paste the nitty gritty info about Guardians (sorry if that's kinda long)

Guardians resemble mermaids, with long shark-like tails that they use to propel themselves through space. The ‘swim’ on solar currents (the waves all stars give off). Their bodies are covered in a very fine layer of fur, keeping them warm. They all wear long capes that are full of thousands of pockets. They don’t breath, drink, or eat. Any nutrient they require to live are absorbed through their skin as they move through space. They speak telepathically, but are also able to communicate verbally, although no one is sure exactly how since they have no air to pass through vocal cords. Guardians are sensitive to atmospheric pressure, since most of them have never set foot on a planet before. They are nearly immortal, living for centuries, but can be killed and eventually do die. Like Andromedans, young Guardians are hatched from eggs that their parents have abandoned on asteroids. Guardians must take care of themselves from birth, and rarely (if ever) see a member of their own race. As a result, they are very solitary beings.

Selyna has gold eyes, gold fur, and a black and silver tail.

Personality: Her egg was found by a space explorer so she's pretty used to how things are done in the planet-dweller world. She does get confused at times, though. She's very friendly but sometimes seems a bit aloof, and doesn't trust too easily. Keeping in mind that Guardians are a race of legend, and many people believe that they don't exist, she has a hard time feeling comfortable around planet-dwellers.
Anything else?: Guardians can manipulate air/solar waves, so if something is flying through the air towards her, she can knock it aside without touching it. She's telepathic, and can teleport short distances but not through strong atmospheres. Her tail transforms into legs when she's at Starcademy, and she wears a long cape that she can use to make herself invisible if necessary.

Sorry that's so long :)

Hey, can I be two characters? I was thinking of adding a teacher to the list, not a main character but someone who pops up every now and then. Also, she'd be a good way of introducing Selyna to the gang (since her species is largely legend)

Character Name: Ms. Elria Starr (name may change - I'm making this up as I go along and I don't really like that name)
Species: Human female
Age: About 35, but if you ask her, she'll say 25
Links to the Space Cases: She's a teacher at Starcademy, but that's about it.
Appearance: Tall, long brown hair, brown eyes. She's one of the popular "young" teachers that kids seem to like.
Personality: Easy going, approachable, and a kick-ass pilot. She was a figher pilot with the UPP before switching to teaching. She keeps her eyes out for the kids she likes, and will help them whenever she can.
Anything else?: She teaches the "Universal Cultures" class, which explores the cultures of alien races across the UPP. She also works on the flight deck of Starcademy, giving piloting lessons as an extra-curricular activity to those who sign up.

We aren't accepting applications for teachers right now. saria and I want to use teachers as NPCs to advance various plots by assigning work and detentions or discouraging the adventures the kids might find themselves on. If you have ideas for assignments, we'd love to hear them, but right now only the mods are going to be teachers.

We're totally cool with you playing more than one character, since the kids' class is pretty sparse at the moment, but we're going to have to ask that it's a student.

No problem :)

If you want to use this particular model for a teacher, feel free!
